Sport Clubs Overview


Eligible participants of SDSU Sport Clubs are required to be a regularly enrolled and/or dual-admit students with 6 or more units of coursework at San Diego State University. All participants must also maintain an active Aztec Recreation Center membership.

Students enrolled through the Extended Studies or American Language Institute (ALI) Programs are ineligible to participate in the Sports Club Program. Individuals enrolled via either program are considered 'Special Enrolled' and are not viewed by the San Diego State University Registrar as regularly (matriculated) enrolled students.

As a member of a sports club team, each participant MUST COMPLETE or SUBMIT the following documents:

New Student Club Athletes

  • Student Red ID
  • Health History Questionnaire
  • Sports Physical (Administered by and M.D or D.O)
  • Medical Consent Form
  • Concussion Statement
  • DMV Pull Form
  • Copy of Driver's License
  • Proof of Auto Insurance
  • Proof of Defensive Driving Course

Returning Student Club Athletes
  • Student Red ID
  • Returning Medical Questionnaire
  • Medical Consent form
  • Concussion Statement
  • DMV Pull Form
  • Copy of Driver's License
  • Proof of Auto Insurance
  • Proof of Defensive Driving Course

Coaching Staff (Paid or Volunteer)
  • Employment Application Packet (to be submitted before registering)
  • Driver's License
  • Proof of Auto Insurance
  • Proof of Defensive Driving Course
  • Safety Certifications (CPR/First Aid/AED)
  • Concussion Statement
