Soccer is offered during the spring semester in a double elimination tournament with divisions for Men, Co-Rec. and Women. If anyone is injured, immediately notify the officials and supervisor.
RULES AND POINTS OF EMPHASIS:
NIRSA Rules will be followed explicitly unless noted below.
The game shall be played between two (2) teams of seven (7) players. Each team must have 6 players on the field in order to begin play.
All games will consist of two (2) 20-minute halves with no time outs. The clock runs continuously except for injuries. Time between halves is five (5) minutes.
GAME TIME IS FORFEIT TIME
The use of dangerous equipment is prohibited. Shoes must be worn- basketball, tennis, as well as soccer cleans.FOOTBALL AND BASEBALL CLEATS MAY NOT BE WORN. The official will inspect cleats before game time. All exposed metal knee braces must be covered.
Abusive or insulting language, acts of unfair play, and managers,coaches or substitutes on the field of play will result in suspension.
Yellow Cards will = 5 minutes of penalty time for the offending player and an allowed substitution during a normal period of substitution.
Red Card= player is ejected from the game. No substitution is allowed; team must play numbers down. The ejected player should see the Director of Recreation, as soon as possible they shall not play again until they meet with the director.
